On July 13, 2020, the government provided more information about the UK points system. This new arrangement will take effect on January 1, 2021, and will be free to join the European Union.
It will deal with EU citizens inside and outside the EU, aiming to attract people who can contribute to the British economy. Irish citizens will continue to enter and live in the UK as they do now.
Visa application process
The new immigration route will be opened later this year so that you can work, live and study in the UK from January 1, 2021.
You can apply online and pay the visa fee.
When applying, you will be asked to provide biometric information. The process is:
European Union, European Economic Area, and Swiss citizens
For most visas, you can provide an electronic photo of your face using a smartphone application. You do not have to provide fingerprints.
For small and small payment methods (to be confirmed later this year), you will need to go to the overseas application center visa to take photos.
Citizens outside the EU
You will continue to provide fingerprints and photos to the foreign visa application office.
The points system will include a job opportunity provided by a certified sponsor for craftsmen to use.
Starting from January 2021, the position offered to you must meet the required proficiency level RQF3 or higher (equivalent to A level). You also need to be able to speak English and be able to get enough compensation from sponsors. The general salary limit is £25,600, or the actual walking speed of your business, whichever is higher.
If your income is less than this amount (but not less than £20,480), you can still get special benefits through “trading” points in exchange for your salary for promotion. For example, if you offer a vacancy or you have a doctorate degree related to the position.
For more information about the working principle of the points system, please refer to the detailed information document.
This is not a common way for employers to work at or close to the minimum wage.
If you are not yet a certified guarantor and want to enhance your immigration capabilities through the trade funnel in January 2021, you must apply immediately.
